I've been attending this particular church this week....
it's nice, generally friendly, with humourous pastors...duno about the cells.
not to mention my pri schoolmates converted recently and have been attending there.
so have my jc friends.....Went with Isabel.......(hey ur name is like Israel with a 'b').
we went 1 and a half services!!
oh well......actually surprised that God brought back some of my Pre-teen frens back to church. sure am grateful for His engineering of circumstances for ppl like her to be back. praying that more of them come back or at least attend somewhere.....
but i'm amused that despite us being brought up in the same sunday sch and taught the same lessons during pr6 till sec 2, we can have such differing opinions on church-going and people, esp, guys. i mean, yah her taste is like, strange. but she reminded me of one very important fact that i always believed and knew but had forgotten. heh heh.
and opinions about churches really differ. i mean, when u choose a church, i believe you should focus on the MAIN things that matter to God and not the more "sideline" stuff. if the motive of the church is right......God looks at the heart.
been nagging at my bro to start reading the bible more cos he's seriously slack. like, "Get ur head knowledge in now.....don't wait till army or jc when u get lost."
i wish everyone reading my blog had blogs of their own that i could read too. =P =)

Actually, little one, It's not head knowledge that can prevent a person from getting lost. It's more heart knowledge, but in the end it is God that can make sure a person doesn't go astray.

I think that head and heart knowledge complement each other.
I meant head as in the stuff we read and hear from preachers and the Word. Heart knowledge is more in a literal sense like when things happen in your life and u learn....and things felt and sensed. both head and heart can be used by God.
And yes, both complement each other. You can't make important decisions one without the other.

Isabel, i wasn't talking about you and ur weird taste literally...
i was using the example of how we're both brought up with the same sunday-sch values but yet have different opinions, to illustrate that:
It boils down to the individual's decisions in life that determines where he goes and NOT just a his upbringing. -Kimberly
Actually I see it as this:
Head knowledge is just knowing, like knowing that "Love is a many splendored thing" because you read it in a book or that fire is hot because your teacher told you.
Heart Knowledge is actually internalising this knowledge into a part of your life, like falling in love and understanding how splendid love truely is or sticking your hand into the fire and feeling how hot fire really is.
Head knowledge can change the way you make a decision, but not as much as heart knowledge due to conviction.
Knowing that God is Lord of All is just words in your head. Experiencing God's Power and Love is another thing altogether.
Yah......but thing is APPLYING head knowledge is a lot harder than er....learning it in the book la. so...takes both i tink. so how come my entry on general stuff becomes some "head and heart learning" topic?
