Venting, ranting, i speak my mind.
i was just really really really stressed in 3 different ways and two of the stresses have been divinely intervened, somehow, as in solved. haaah. whhheeeewww. so left one more. pray for me!
it's crazy, but my friend writes beautiful poetry too. some of her best works was when she was the downest, just like King David of the bible, when he was the most afraid....running from Saul, or most remorseful, he would generate some of the most lovely songs and poetry. and God used it.
on to the endless debate abt the casino. argh......have a feeling the govt will come up with a decision like this: it will b built in the end for the economy but with all the protective measures for social security, like an 'only members' kinda thing. the world is coming to an end anyway....
crossroads was a breather today......whoa.....thankew God! its so so nice being carefree just sitting back n laffing wif the old gang. and even tho' the sermon's not funny we laugh just to show we're there still and give moral support.....err.....(some ppl dun like it tho').
we gals just adore Christian good guys. there's lack of them nowadays. REAL men. take a look at the quality of guys. even Christian males......how many are actually fearing and loving God? 1%? are those days of Billy Graham and Bill Bright gone?.....
Come on guys, PROVE us wrong!

Hmmmm, Fan cluB? Hahaha. What context is it? Anyway about the godly guys, somehow I think that not that there are no godly guys, but very few attractive godly guys. Haha. I don't think there's much choice in the matter tho...at least one can choose to be godly. =P
Actually I think Godly guys are very attractive. They follow the path of the One True God, a God of perfection. Thus they are walking on a path of perfection themselves.
But the world, fallen as it is, does not see this perfection as good, for it mean that the person is becoming more and more different from the world.
I believe ALL Godly men are attractive if you look at them with God's eyes and God's standards. The question then is not "Are there attractive Godly men?" but "Are you looking at the people around you with the eyes of this world or with eyes that look daily to God on High?"
Christ was despised and rejected by men, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him (Isa 52: 2b-3, paraphrased), yet he is the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice, the most beautiful of ten thousand, the lily of the valley... It's all in the eye of the beholder.

er.......hi JJ....would u mind identifying thyself?? thanks!-kim
Haha, your argument sounds very convincing, but sounds like zi3 shang4 tan2 bing1 for me. Ha. 'Cos it's true, godly guys will be more and more different from the world. And it can mean that if you're looking at them as being romantically attractive, you'll only find few who meet that standard.
Actually your argument sounds very scary to me. That Christ who was despised and that there was nothing attractive in his appearance. And godly men are those who aim to be like Christ! Hahaha. Maybe that's why they don't seem that attractive. =)
I was saying that people of this world, people that follow the ways of this world only will see things in terms of this world (Credit Card, Comdo, Cash, Club membership, Car as opposed to Chrsitian, Caring, Considerate, Christ-centered...etc)
The Bible states that Christ was not thought of well because of the sin in the hearts of the Hebrews. They could not see him as He was, The Son of God. Jesus wasn't physically attractive, but neither was he ugly. He was disliked because people felt the sinless-ness in him and they couldn't accept him because they had sin in their hearts and their lives.
Yes, I know some christian brothers are not very handsome, but beauty is transitory. Proverbs 31:30 - "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised." This not only means that a godly woman (and men also actually) should not concentrate on her (or his) outlook but on God, but also that should mean that she (and he) should not prize
beauty before godliness.
It's just my stand. And thus I try to be a godly christian male It's all I have going for me, and it's enough
And Kim, you don't recognise my styleof 'writing'? I'm so hurt... hehehe
-JJ (The nice Christian Brother who always appeared to bring exam supper for you, played bridge with you and gave you a pack of cards with his company's name on it. Too bad I can't deliver food to you this sem...)
ha. you're speaking as a brother. =) if a girl could say from her heart what you have said, it would have been a lot more hopeful actually. u and i discussing hardly change the situation.
but oh well. as the chinese say, "ting1 tian1 you2 ming4" in these kinds of issues la.
okok sounds like a male-bonding session here. hee...great! the argument definitely makes sense and is ACCURATE. you don't need a girl's view here any more liaoz. all that's been said is said. haha. except it's not LITERALLY u guys are trying to LOOK like Jesus, right? bottomline: not many Godly guys groom themselves. too busy with God's work.
Don't think you girls want us guys to grow long hair and a beard and look like the way Jesus is usually depicted in movies....
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Wah lieu....dun tok crap lah.....but personally i like guys with not too short hair....pony tails for guys who suit it quite cool. heh.
