Heyooo........came back liao from cambodia!
yesh.......i'm back.......it's been totally eye-opening, crazy (as in challenging) , tiring physically, spiritually (er.....i mean in a good sense). yeah and the food was OK!! and most of all i did a lot of reflecting.
wow, like it's so cool just enjoying everything a mission trip could offer:
getting personal with God
whew......since a long break from personal time lord......i needed this recess of renewal and recharge. wow......i'm still seeking a clue or ans about the vision of marion and the haircut scissors. like *puzzlement n wonder* speak i'm listening.
the thing about you is that u totally listen to everyting i say.....not selective like me. i gotta learn to b like you! and also praying for the salvation of some people......sigh.....all i can do is sow seeds and wait. also, about my calling for specific areas of interest in my life to surface more clearly.......in accordance to your will. still opening my ears, eyes, tuning to ur channel.
i see why this country needs u so bad now. singaporeans really have no physical need for You God. maybe that's why we have the most stupid issues 3rd world countries don't even have to think of dealing with.
also issues of our heart (includes mine) God wanted to deal with in every individual in our team. "I see visions of padi fields......they represent some of our hearts here tonite. some hearts are soft before God, green, some are far away, yellow, some are getting green though there are some yellow parts....you might think the yellow padi field is someone else's heart but God may be telling you 'No, that's your heart and i want to deal with it.' " came marion's words on the first night of devotion when we arrived......
The team (15 strong), twelve are 12 t o14 yr olds
oh man they're cute but annoying at times!!! grrrrrr..........good thing debbie set the rules n discipline from the start. i got closer to individuals in my own cell--alecia, ferdinand, ben, lisa.
lisa has real spunk in a God-confident way. she relies on the joy of the Lord to keep her positive in all circumstances. not hopeless. amazing.
ben is adorable lah......though he is prejudiced abt certain types of ppl, he has eagerness to learn and grow.
ferdinand's initiative and humble serving of our team surprised me as he was so different from his usual noisy self in cell. he's almost 90% obedient when we tell him to do something. one night, he just collected our smelly socks and quietly went to the wash area to scrub them one by one. alecia grew to be a little more socially sensitive and aware of others around her other than Joy. and though she didnt attend the last meeting b4 trip just to see the spore idol, she did regret.
Marion's home
seeing thru the eyes of the poor and lost in cambodia
polpot's torture chamber (i hate him big time) and the stuff ppl went through for one man's selfish ambition. enough said.
this country needs you.......baddd.......
can a nation be changed
can a nation be moved
can a naiton be turned back to you?
We're on our knees
we're on our knees again.
growing in maturity
yep.......whew.....it's crazy......i love missionnnnn trippps......or isit i love travelling? oh no........
this time round it was i had to take care of the kids, not the other way round. in the end i tink i did my job sooo well that i forgot to take care of my er......wallet and handphone on the very last day!!! oh well.....the kids taught me a whole lot too.
